Change in visa application procedures

From 6 June 2013, the visa section of the Embassy Addis Abeba will be connected to VIS, the data exchange service of the Schengen states.  From this date onwards, all applicants have to present themselves in person at the visa section of the Embassy, unless they were fingerprinted during an earlier applicatino for a Schengen-visa and if that application was lodged no longer than 59 months previously.

From 1 May 2013, you are obliged to make an appointment for lodging your visa application via an internet-based booking system.

German expert holds basketball clinics in Namibia

The German Embassy in  Windhoek and the Namibian Basketball Federation (NBF) will hold coaching clinics led by  German expert Peter Schey aimed at developing the sport of basketball in Namibia. The clinics are part of a project which includes the donation of sports equipment.

German Minister Niebel visits Namibia and Zambia

German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel is on a five-day trip to Namibia and Zambia from May 19 to 23. The main purpose of his trip is to get a first hand-impression on the progress in the establishment of the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), which is supported by Gemany with 35.5 million Euro.
