Hand-Over of Out-Patient Clinic to Ethiopian Armed Forces

On 7 March 2017, during a solemn ceremony Mr. Matthias Schauer, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the German Embassy in Addis Ababa, handed over a fully equipped Out-Patient Clinic to the Major General Mulugeta Buli Technical College of the Ethiopian Armed Forces in Holeta/Region Oromia.

Not only the soldiers, who are based on the compound, will benefit from this walk-in clinic, but also the civilian inhabitants of Holeta and its surrounding areas. During a walkthrough, all attending guests - predominantly representatives of the Ethiopian Armed Forces and most of the accredited Foreign Military Attachés in Addis Ababa - had a chance to see the high quality of the building and the equipment donated by the German Federal Government.

During his speech, Major General Halefom, Commander of the Defence University, expressed his country’s gratitude for the long standing technical support given by the German Federal Government through the years.

This hand-over is part of a Military Equipment Aid Programme between the Governments of Germany and Ethiopia which is implemented by a German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) Technical Advisory Group since 2010. Several previous projects were already implemented and the German Federal Government has supported Holeta and its surrounding areas through technical equipment for workshops especially by providing German machineries.
